The fractional laser resurfacing procedure involves the laser beam penetrating into the deep layers of the dermis through a special fractional grid. Thanks to it, the laser flow is divided into hundreds of small fractions (fragments), thus point-wise affecting the skin and preventing excessive damage. In response to thermal laser exposure, the dermis and epidermis activate their recovery resources: cells actively divide, the concentration of elastin and collagen increases, a new muscle framework is formed, and tissue lifting is observed.

In other words, the laser beam evaporates the upper keratinized layer of the epidermis along with pigmentation, wrinkles, scars, and unevenness of the relief. At the same time, it activates the synthesis of collagen and elastin in the dermis, which are responsible for the elasticity, flexibility, and youthfulness of the skin.

Indications for the procedure:

Contraindications to laser resurfacing:

• Diabetes mellitus in the decompensation stage.
• Acute and chronic infectious and viral diseases.
• For pregnant and lactating women.
• Oncological diseases.

The decision to perform a laser face resurfacing procedure should be made exclusively by a dermatologist at the clinic after an in-person consultation. It is important to understand that fractional face resurfacing is not indicated for everyone due to its specificity.

The process of carrying out the procedure:

• Fractional laser resurfacing of the face is virtually painless. If the patient is hypersensitive, the procedure can be performed under local anesthesia. Anesthetic cream is applied to the selected area. The doctor and patient wear special protective glasses during the resurfacing. The laser handle (tip) directs the beam to the problem area, spot-treating it at the specified parameters.

Rehabilitation period:

• The first two days after polishing, active redness and swelling are observed on the skin.
• After 2-3 days, a light brown crust forms on the surface of the skin, which peels off on its own by the 5th-7th day.
• During the first 2-3 weeks, you should use sunscreen with a protection factor of at least SPF 50 before each time you go outside.
• It is recommended to avoid visiting saunas, baths and swimming pools for 2 weeks.
