The mechanism of action of the drug is based on its ability to disrupt the transmission of nerve impulses to the muscles, which leads to a temporary decrease in the activity of the facial muscles of the face and helps smooth out wrinkles.

The effect of contouring with Refinex is increasing gradually, so it is assessed 2-3 days after injection (during this time, the toxin completely blocks the work of facial muscles). The result persists for 6-9 months, after which the procedure is recommended to be repeated (with each subsequent injection, the volume of the drug that must be injected into the muscle decreases, and the duration of the effect increases).
