(Translated by Google) The ancient church near the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra is included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites.
Built at the end of XI or early XII century. probably by Volodymyr II Monomakh. It was a tomb of princes from the genus Monomakhovichi. Destroyed in 1482 by the Crimean khan Mengli I Giray.
Only the first tier of a rectangular vestibule survived from the original structure of the church. In 1640-1643, at the request of Metropolitan Peter the Grave, the temple was restored in the style of the Ukrainian Baroque.
Currently on reconstruction (you can see only outside). The completion of works is planned in December 2019.
