Kites is a fast-paced, cooperative board game for groups. Players work together to keep all the kites in the air. You'll need to act quickly, and you must remain vigilant at all times. And if it gets too easy, there's still a way to make the game more challenging!

Before the game begins, turn all six hourglasses sideways. Make sure that only one half of each hourglass contains sand. The game begins when you turn the white hourglass face-up. Each player plays a card on their turn. Then, immediately flip (or face-up if they are still face-up) the hourglasses of the corresponding colors. At the end of their turn, that player draws a new card from the deck, and the next player takes their turn.

As mentioned, the main goal is to prevent any of the clocks from running out of time. Players are perfectly capable of communicating with each other about potential problems, so don't hesitate to do so!

The Grand Final begins when the common deck is exhausted, and players can no longer draw new cards. Touching the white hourglass is now prohibited, but players must still play all their cards. The fewer cards players have and the fewer cards in their deck when the timer runs out, at least on one hourglass, the better the outcome!

The Challenge mode is also worth mentioning. It adds challenge cards to the deck, chosen by the players. After playing Storm, you'll have to flip all the hourglasses, Tangled Threads will force all players to trade cards, and Airplane will plunge everyone into silence until it's covered by another card. However, we recommend only adding these cards once you've had good results without them! You can also simplify the game by removing the orange and purple cards, as well as the corresponding hourglasses, from the game.
