Densitometry is a non-invasive, painless diagnostic method using a special X-ray machine that measures bone mineral density. And allows you to get a quick examination result.

This examination method is used to diagnose osteopenia (initial stage) and osteoporosis in a patient and begin treatment.

Classical densitometry is performed in three zones:

The transverse spine and the necks of both femurs are the areas most susceptible to fractures.
Forearm - if it is not possible to examine the transverse or femur (due to the presence of fractures or old fractures).
Thoracic and lumbar spine imaging for external visualization of the vertebrae condition. Change in the shape of the vertebrae, as an example - a decrease in the patient's height.
