Service description

Preparing for an abdominal ultrasound

  • For 3-4 days, exclude from your diet products that increase gas formation: black bread, dairy products, nuts and mushrooms, fresh vegetables and fruits, legumes, sauerkraut, coffee, alcohol, carbonated drinks. Allowed to use: low-fat poultry and fish, beef, baked apples without sugar, cereal cereals, a small amount of eggs, hard cheese with a low percentage of fat.
  • On the recommendation of a doctor, you can add drugs to the diet that improve digestion and reduce gas formation.
  • On preparation days, do not overeat and drink plenty of fluids.
  • Before the study, complete abstinence from food for 8 hours or more is necessary; the last meal should not include meat and fish dishes. If there was a doctor's instruction, then at the same time take activated charcoal in the usual dosage according to your weight.
  • Do not drink water, smoke or take medication immediately before the examination.
