• Zhovkva is a small town located 25 kilometers north of Lviv and 35 kilometers from the Ukrainian-Polish border. It is documented that on the site of the current Zhovkva since 1368 there was the village of Vinniki (now - within the city). In 1597, a castle was built near the village by Hetman Stanislav Zholkiewski, around which an urban-type settlement arose, which received Magdeburg rights in 1603. • The next stop is at the Krekhiv Monastery (located in the village of Krekhov, Zhovkovsky District, Lviv Region). The temple is also called the Basilian Monastery. This is an extremely beautiful place where comfort, harmony and tranquility reign. According to popular beliefs, two miraculous icons are kept in this monastery: St. Nicholas and the Mother of God.
• In the forest, next to the monastery, there is a healing spring of the Virgin. A figure of the Virgin Mary is installed nearby, people come here to swim in order to improve their health and get water that does not deteriorate during storage. A little higher than the source in the rock there is a cave, from which the foundation of the monastery of St. Nicholas began. Now on the territory of the monastery there are several monks and priests who take care of its arrangement. Priests are engaged in soul-pastoral ministry. Catechesis of children and youth is constantly carried out among the inhabitants of the surrounding villages, and they are engaged with the weak.
