Preparation for ultrasound of the abdominal cavity

  • For 3-4 days, exclude from your diet foods that increase gas production: black bread, dairy products, nuts and mushrooms, fresh vegetables and fruits, legumes, sauerkraut, coffee, alcohol, carbonated drinks. Allowed to eat: lean poultry and fish, beef, baked apples without sugar, cereals, a small amount of eggs, hard cheese with a low percentage of fat.
  • On the recommendation of a doctor, drugs can be added to the diet that improve digestion and reduce gas production.
  • On preparation days, do not overeat and drink plenty of fluids.
  • Before the study, complete abstinence from food for 8 hours or more is required; the last meal should not include meat and fish dishes. If instructed by a doctor, then at the same time take activated charcoal in the usual dosage according to your weight.
  • Immediately before the examination, do not drink water, smoke or take medicine.
